INTRODUCING... IVERY BELL

My name is Ivery Bell and music is my passion. I have been singing virtually my whole life ...actually since the age of eight. At eight years old I won 1st place on amateur night at the NYC Apollo Theater. At 19 years of age I signed with Sal Soul Records as one of the lead singers of the R&B recording group "Moment of Truth." I recorded one hit album and several compilation albums with that group. One single from that album became a local club hit entitled "Helplessly." We also enjoyed marked success overseas with songs like, “Loving you is Killing Me", “You got me hummin”, At Long Last and “You’re all I want to be.” We also had songs released on several SalSoul compilation albums. With this group I recorded on the movie soundtrack from the film "Nocturna" along with Gloria Gaynor and Vikki Sue Robinson. I also performed as an actor in the film.
In the 90's I began singing gospel as I came to know the Lord and wanted to use my gift to glorify God. My initial strong gospel influences were artists like The Winans, John P. Kee and pioneers like James Cleveland. My first gospel CD was released in 2010 entitled “Just Praisn’.  I had the pleasure of working with Dennis Williams (musical director of the legendary O'Jays) as my co-producer and musical arranger. My goal was to make a record that would have something for everyone…young, old, traditional or contemporary listeners. The record did well placing high on the gospel charts in several Southern States.
I have worked the local club circuit as well as major tours, venues like and including Madison Square Garden, Lincoln Center and BB Kings in New York City. Some of the artists I have performed and worked with include: The Stylistics, The O'Jays, Kool & The Gang, Melissa Morgan, Cissy Houston, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Smokey Norful, Hezekiah Walker, The Delfonics, Tavares, James Brown and a host of others far too many to name.  I was then hired to be lead singer for the legendary R&B Group Blue Magic. At one point I also had a short stint with The Dramatics as the 1st Tenor Lead. In addition I performed as the 1st Tenor Lead with the Delfonics Revue. Today in addition to the projects mentioned I perform as one of the lead vocalists for Dr.K’s Motown
Revue. This show is a rich extravaganza of Motown hits exquisitely performed by top notch singers and musicians. My musical resume includes writing, producing, voice coaching and former choir director.
I recorded and released a cover of the beautiful 70’s ballad “I’ll Erase Away Your Pain”…& “Try Me” as a medley. I recorded this as a duet with Billy Jones from Moment Of Truth”. The record has been well received by Classic R&B music lovers everywhere. It is also noteworthy that I have written, produced and sold records to both small independent and major record labels, such as Soul to Soul, Polygram and Def Jam.  Whether writing, recording, producing or performing on stage…When I’m making music I am in a zone of peace and true contentment.
